4th Studio session

Posted on 24th August, 2024

Another productive recording session with Jack. Re-did my fretless bass part on 'A Good Life' instrumental track, as the 1st one had static click noises on the track. The bass has been serviced by my good friend John Davies of 'The Poachers', and is now sounding fab with no unwanted noises.

So today, I did my lead vocals for the Snakes & Ladders track, wiping off my original rough guide vocal. I did 6 x takes of the complete song, making sure that I sipped water inbetween to keep the voice smooth, which Jack insured that I did. Then I layered down some simple bv's (backing vocals) with Jack helping out on a few harmonies as well. So I'm happy & confident with the vocal after studying the demo & honing in on the vocal delivery. Jack's also been busy pre-session, putting on some fab percussion sounds including: Cymbals & Timbales with a high drum tom type of sound, adding flavour to the track.

That's all the parts completed now for 'Snakes', so onto the mixing stage next to render the song for the 1st single release. I'm sort of thinking of maybe a CD E.P of 3 x songs with a download/artwork option, will keep you all posted on developments for the release.
