6th Session

Posted on 12th October, 2024

Got to Jacks 10am this morning feeling a bit woozy after my flu/covid jabs on Thursday, but I was ok for session. My good lady wife Tina giving me a lift in, as I was a bit fragile.

So today, I did two extra lead vocal tracks at certain distances from the microphone on 'Snakes & Ladders'. These were to add to the original lead vocal for a sound effect, an idea of Jacks which sounded really great. Jacks now embedded into his ProTools engineering course up in the smoke, and picking up some fab trick of the trade tips.

Jack then added some extra drum parts (Tom Toms/Cymbals) to 'A Good Life Sort Of!' instrumental track, which is sounding lush now.

Also Jack & I did some production work on both tunes: Positioning & editing flute/guitar/piano on the tracks, a nice effect on the fretless bass, very Pino like! Adjusting levels of of bass/drums etc. I'm really pleased with the tracks so far, looking forward to the mixing stage now all the groundwork is completed.

Caught the old no.29 bus home from Belfairs after a 7-hour session at 5.30pm, bass in gig bag & rucksack in tow. I'm feeling like a very satisfied old bassist/songwriter man today. Nice to get home to rest, and a home-made curry with red wine mmmmm!
