Getting a bit exited now as all 3 tracks for the E.P are completed, Jack Corder is finalising the mixes during this last week.
Session 9 (02/01/25): I recorded my proper bass onto Good Times, Fun Times after wiping off the original guide bass at the backing track session.
I also put down the vocal track, sounding quite new-wave like! I made sure it was a spirited performance, Jack made me do about 5/6 takes to warm the old voice box up.
We then did some production on Paula Borrell's flute on A Good Life instrumental track, adding some nice reverb textures.
Session 10 (25/01/25): I layed down a guitar track on Good Times, Fun Times. Firstly, a rhythm part in a Wilko style (fingers no pick), it came out sounding good, many thanks to Paul Smith for the loan of his Fender Telecaster for this. Secondly I did a guitar solo, very basic in a Chuck Berry sort of vibe, it's all I can do really but Jack seemed to think it was a fab solo.
Dave & Fi also came round to do bv's on the track, really uplifting the chorus sections, so great to have The Tuppenny Bunters involved in this song.
Session 11 (13/02/25): It was so nice of Steve Cattermole to do a voice over on Good Times, Fun Times, especially as the 2nd verse is about The Riga Music Bar, "You Gotta Shout Louder Than That!"
Jack & I got into some production on Good Times, balancing the bv's, guitar, organ etc. A very satisying day knowing all 3 tracks are mixed & ready for mastering, I'm looking forward with anticipation on the reaction to the tunes.
